1x1.trans Snap de la semaine: Ordination Hall, Bangkok

The ordination hall on the grounds of the Grand Palace in Bangkok. Built between 1783 and 1785, it is just one of the many temples within the Grand Palace complex. Its exterior is finished in colored mirror tiles and gilt carving. The eaves are lined with bronze bells which tinkle in the slightest breeze.

Kathryn and Daniel will post a ‘Snap de la semaine’ irregulary, but at a rate of one per week. It is an original photo not otherwise on the site—it might be fresh from our camera, a new scan of some old film, a product of our fooling around with Photoshop, or a file from the archive that we haven’t posted yet.

    The Grand Palace is beautiful! I will never forget seeing this place…so magnificent! If you are in Thailand you should stop by!
