We have no affiliation with Quark, so I have no first-hand knowledge of their environmental practices. I have read, however, that their expeditions are operated in an environmentally responsible manner. They are active members of the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO) and the Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators (AECO). On their wabsite, they write: "Guests aboard AECO and IAATO member vessels can rest assured that the impact of their visit is mitigated by adherence to the organizations' guidelines." But again, just relaying public information, so take it for what it's worth!
